What most golfers don't know...

Fitting is not a cure all.  Nothing can overcome bad technique.  First, improve your swing with aids such as "The Stack and Tilt" (see banner on the left).  Then get fitted.  Fitted clubs will further improve your game.

Customized golf clubs can be balanced from both ends.  By placing weights on either the club's head or in the butt end of the golf shaft, the balance and feel of the club will change.

If you struggle with consistency and can't seem to retain the feeling of a good swing, then the club may not be balanced to fit your tempo and strength.  A correctly balanced golf club is the biggest factor that allows you to swing the club correctly.

A correctly balanced club will feel solid at impact and give you more consistency and distance.  For slicers, it will give you the ability to feel the clubhead close square at impact.

Golfsmith’s R&D team members found that a test group averaged 9.67 yards farther with the one club that was correctly balanced for their swing. What is even more astonishing is that the group averaged more than 21 yards difference between the best balanced driver and the worst balanced driver for their particular tempo.  Keep in mind that the only parameters that were changed were the total weight and balance point of the club.

The consequences of having a golfclub that does not suit the players internal timing could pose a significant drain, not only on players overall distance, but on their confidence as well.  Many of us have tried drivers that theoretically should have fit, yet they were difficult, if not impossible, to hit. The possibility of modifying the total weight and balance point to “fine tune” any golf club to match the player’s internal timing mechanism creates new possibilities for clubmakers.

And balancing works great with irons, woods and putters too!!

I just emailed my friend Tony to tell him how amazed I was by trying different lengths, shafts, club heads and weights.  My confidence was at an all time high by the time we left.  I've never hit a ball that consistently in my life.  Thank you for such an eye-opening golf experience...
